Language & Culture Sch-Omaha (LACSO) is a nonprofit organization in Omaha dedicated to providing English language education to adults in the community. With almost two decades of experience, LACSO has successfully helped hundreds of new arrivals learn Basic and Advanced English, enabling them to communicate effectively with school staff and prepare for the citizenship exam. In addition to traditional in-person classes, LACSO offers virtual English lessons via Zoom, catering to non-English-speaking individuals in the Omaha/Council Bluffs area.
Students at LACSO undergo assessment using the Best Plus test and are assigned to classes based on their language proficiency level, ensuring personalized and efficient instruction. The organization collaborates with local nonprofits to provide face-to-face language education, enhancing the learning experience for participants. Committed to community empowerment, LACSO goes beyond language learning by offering classes in Citizenship and GED for Immigrants, supporting individuals in their personal and professional growth.
