Established in 1962, the Kanagawa Prefecture Japan Eurasia Association is a non-profit organization committed to fostering mutual understanding and friendship between the people of Japan and countries across Eurasia, including the former Soviet Union. Over the past five decades, the association has been actively involved in a wide array of initiatives, ranging from organizing events and courses to introducing cultural and sports activities. They also provide services like merchandise and translation, in addition to supporting goodwill exchange projects with local governments, public organizations, NGOs, and various other groups.

Officially registered as an NPO in June 2003, the association remains at the forefront of embracing modern approaches in alignment with the evolving landscape of globalization. They offer a diverse range of services aimed at facilitating interactions and fostering relationships among Japan, Russia, and other Eurasian nations. Furthermore, the association marked its 60th anniversary with notable events such as the talk show “Moscow Broadcasting: Celebrating 80 Years!” featuring former announcers and dedicated listeners, offering valuable insights into the historical significance and untold stories of the renowned broadcasting station.

Through publications like the “Japan and Eurasia” newsletter and the “Russia TOP10 & Entertainment Information” magazine, the association delivers comprehensive perspectives on various facets of the region. With a strong emphasis on promoting the learning of Japanese language among Russian speakers, the Yokohama Russian Language Center stands as a pivotal hub for cultural exchange and educational opportunities, embodying the association’s unwavering dedication to nurturing cross-cultural connections and advancing international goodwill.
